Portland based General Contractor specilizing in theming of large scale projects.
Our Preconstruction Services department is dedicated to working with our clients and their design teams to provide preplanning, value engineering, constructability review, cost estimating and budget control throughout the design process. The preconstruction staff includes individuals experienced in creative problem solving, innovative fabrication techniques, project management, field supervision, estimating and scheduling.
Success of any project is a result of extensive planning and good communication. As the design is developed, our preconstruction team will thoroughly review the proposed materials, sequence of construction and fabrication requirements. Prior to starting fabrication and construction, we establish a clear project plan. A schedule is developed incorporating deadlines for design, engineering, shop drawings, permits, the bid process and installation. These activities are all sequenced and linked to the targeted construction dates. Weekly team meetings are held to review and update the progress of the preconstruction activities.
We understand that value engineering and constructability are interrelated, and we review the project with both issues in mind. These reviews begin during conceptual design and continue until the completion of the working drawings. The most opportune time, when changes can be made with the least disruption, is before the final working drawings are started. Savoy/Deacon excels in its ability to maintain the integrity of the design while still keeping a focus on constructability and cost effective solutions.
All of the knowledge and planning developed during the preconstruction phase is now implemented during fabrication and installation. At this point, our team thoroughly understands the project and is able to reduce delays and change orders because of the communication and planning that has taken place between our fabrication team and our installation crew.
This integrated planning, fabrication and installation process will help any project, whether it involves furnishing and installing the glass and lighting package, completing an entire interior build-out, or constructing the complete building.
