Ledyard, CTThe new MGM Grand Tower at Foxwoods Casino features backlit walls of multi-layered translucent art glass panels. The rectilinear panels are laminated with crushed amber glass frit, which adds texture, a subtle sparkle and a warm glow.
The sculpture in the theater entrance over the escalator fills the space in a way that only two thousand blown glass balls could. Three inch to 12 inch diameter clear and amber blown glass balls hang from the reflective ceiling above the escalator by fine wires creating the illusion that the balls are floating. As you move along the escalator you experience an ever-changing form of light and shape.
